»» Removing Natural Curl Without Harsh Chemicals

For those, who often experience damage from traditional chemical hair straighteners, there is now a new solution.

That is what Xenna Corporation said after announcing the launch of its new curl relaxer, Curlaway

At Xenna Corporation say:
“Curlaway is truly revolutionary because of its gentle method of changing the structure of curly hair without the use of harsh alkaline ingredients. It is so safe that it can be used directly on chemically-relaxed hair to refresh a perm and on children’s and men’s hair.”

- Ingredients
Curlaway Gel contains a natural source of acetic acid to modify the amino acid anchors of the disulfide bond without breaking it, as alkaline, conventional relaxers do.

- Treatment
It gently removes natural curl, makes hair easier to comb and style — all without the use of harsh chemicals. Curlaway can be used as an overnight treatment and, with very light application, as a daily, leave-in conditioning-relaxer.
Curlaway takes about 20 applications to straighten virgin curly hair, and an average of 5 applications to relax permed or wavy hair.

- Should you like to give a try to it
Xenna corporation announced it is going to distribute Curlaway nationally to beauty supply stores. The brand’s introduction will feature 6-unit displays. The product’s MSRP is $19.99, for a 6 oz jar - 6 to 8 applications. source

»» More Laser Treatments, Less Face-Lift

According to a survey conducted by American Society of Plastic Surgeons, increasingly people prefer minimally invasive facial procedures - such as laser treatments, to face-lifts.

Doctors performed 108,955 face-lifts last year, but they did a whopping 3.8 million Botox treatments and 1 million chemical peels.

Botox is both easier and cheaper than a face-lift, but is not a permanent fix, so it has to be repeated every three to four months, whereas a face-lift lasts a decade.

The top five cosmetic surgical procedures in 2005 were: liposuction, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, and tummy tucks.
