Italian Fashion house Gianfranco Ferrè signs the American actress Julia Roberts for its next ad campaign - Spring-Summer 2006 season.

Gianfranco Ferrè says:

“I think the time for muses has come and gone. My source of inspiration is modern-day reality, women who live in today’s world. Both, as a woman and as a personality Julia Roberts in my eyes reflects a total affinity with this ideal of mine”

Italian fashion designer Miuccia Prada has chosen the actress Kim Basinger, 51, as model for the Miu Miu collection spring/summer 2006.

Featuring movie stars in their forties, it appears to be the new trend of the fashion houses, as also Versace had chosen middle-aged stars such as Demi Moore, 42, and Madonna, 47, in recent campaigns.
