»» Handbag Convertible into Wedding Dress

61

An very weird and unique idea by an Italian fashion designer specialising in wedding dresses.

Giovanna Sbiroli, from Putignano, town in nearby Bari, created a handbag which an be easily converted into wedding dress.
The designer presented her creation at Palazzo Rospigliosi Pallavicini Sforza, in Rome, during a show included in ‘Puglia in tour’, event planned to promote the fashion from Apulia region.

A very original idea. Very cool. But useful?
May be for women who plan to get married just a while after they met their love. May be while vacationing.
A ready-to-use wedding dress for the husband-chasers who have no time to visit a wedding couturier. It could be included among the travel accessories.

»» Formal with Touch of Subversiveness for Him

58

Men who are tired of wearing classic clothes, will have more chances by choosing among new fashion styles, without renouncing to the formal style.
The Newsweek article - “Fashion: Formal But Funky”, introduces a few new labels that have contributed to launch such new trend in men’s fashion. Among them, Barker Black that defined its brand’s style as: “sophisticated, with a touch of subversiveness”

Barker Black Ltd is at the forefront of a new trend in men’s fashion—making formal style hip again, from slimmer suits to sportier dress shoes. Barker Black launched last year in New York, aimed at the man who is tired of the classic Brooks Brothers look but too tough for Prada. The label recently became available in Dubai and Tokyo, and will make its exclusive London debut at Harrods in May.

“We’re taking dresswear, once an uncomfortable necessity, and making it something guys want to wear,” says Miller, creative director at Barker Black Ltd.[...]

The ties, handmade in Italy from English silk, run from $95 to $135.[...]
As for shoes, the most popular model is the two-tone Spectator ($775; barkerbrown.com). But if the shoes on the rack don’t jump out at you, try the made-to-order service, where you pick from more than 30 leathers and colors—then wait 16 weeks.

I add, you could try a customized fashion tour in Italy, to get made-to-order shoes, apparel, and fashion accessories at considerably cheaper than those above listed. An Italian tour operator, will help you to locate in Italy, the many craftsmen manufacturing hand made fashion items; it is real made in Italy and you can get it at bargain prices.

The money you save worth a trip; also you can choose among several more options. For details on how to arrange a customized fashion tour in Italy, contact us

»» New York Inspires Lagerfeld to Design Under His Own Name

56

After more than 20 years spent in creating collections for Chanel and Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld, launched this past February during the New York Fashion Week, a collection under his own name.

The Washington Post, by interviewing the designer, anticipates that the line, contemporary and created for mass consumption, will not be cheap, but far more accessible than the designs Lagerfeld creates for his employers at Fendi and Chanel.

Karl Lagerfeld

Just a few examples: a pair of slashed jeans for women cost $395, men’s straight-leg jeans priced at $250 and a $150 silk-screen T-shirt.

For fall, the collection will be available at such stores as Neiman Marcus, Saks Jandel, Bergdorf Goodman, Intermix and Nordstrom.

The new collection, Karl Lagerfeld says, evokes the spirit of New York — or more specifically the part of Manhattan that is south of 14th Street.[...] The fall collection is distinguished by a palette in black, charcoal and bark. Whether the clothes are for men or women, they are lean and nonchalant.
The sweaters look as if they have been stretched and artfully marred with holes and runs. There are trench coats, long skirts, T-shirts, cotton vests, denim and peacoats. The clothes look lived in.
